Lots of rain recieved in the past week. Expect the river to be running full blast for a week or so.....maybe an opportunity to wader fish in the morning or evening. If you have a raft or drift boat you need to be on the South Holston. I floated A couple of days aga and seen some of the best fish I've seen all year taken on streamers. Olive and White bunny strip streamers seemed to work the best. I did use some black that worked extremely well below Hickory Tree Bridge. As of Nov 1 there are 2 sections of the river closed for spawning. 1. Hickory Tree Bridge to the cul de sac at Riverbend Road. 2. From the upper end of the island at Webb Bridge to the lower end of the island below Weaver Pike Bridge. See signs or call me at the shop for detail. 276.466.8988 The big browns are in pre spawn mode now. The best time to catch the monster Browns ethically is now. Browns are feeding aggresivly now before spawn. While approaching / wading the river, be alert, step softly and look for fish. Sight fishing to a big brown might be more rewarding than ever. Catching a fish over 8lbs now is not un common
