The Story

Enlist the services of Orvis-endorsed outfitter Tall Tides Charters on your fly-fishing trip to Savannah, Georgia. We are a Savannah-based guide service specializing in fly and light-tackle fishing. Our territory is up and down the Georgia and South Carolina coast for redfish and other inshore/nearshore species. We specialize in sight fishing for redfish on the fly or with light tackle. While redfish are our main target, we also fish for cobia, jack crevalle, tarpon, triple tail, and trout. We practice catch-and-release while fishing for these species because we understand what a valuable resource they are and hope to preserve the fisheries for future generations. Our main vessels are traditional flats-style skiffs that are built to handle the various conditions of our local waters. Built to get in skinny water, these boats can travel where many larger boats cannot. Tackle will be provided on all trips. We also work closely with other guides in our area and our network beyond. Whether you’re putting together a corporate retreat to fish locally or you want to book a fishing excursion to a far-off destination, we can help you. We strive to be as versatile and accommodating as possible. We are here to make your experience in Savannah and the Lowcountry one you will never forget.

Highlights:

  • Redfish, jacks, cobia, tripletail, tarpon
  • Savannah, Georgia, and surrounding areas, sight fishing along the Georgia Coast
  • Over a decade of guiding experience including Montana, North Carolina, and Patagonia
  • $525–$825
  • Year-round fishery with opportunities for multiple species spring through summer

Orvis is pleased to offer our travel customers access to two valuable services: Global Rescue travel membership and IMG Signature Travel Insurance℠.

We primarily fish the coastal waters surrounding Savannah. We are fortunate to have such a vast ecosystem with thousands of winding tidal creeks, flats and rivers to explore. The Georgia Coast consists of 90+ miles of some of the East Coast’s most untouched coastline. Spartina grass and oysters make up the terrain that redfish slide through. In the spring through fall seasons, we chase redfish, jacks, cobia, tripletail, and tarpon. The winter is perfect for clearwater low-tide sight fishing for redfish and chasing stripers on overcast days.

What should I bring?

Polarized sunglasses, hat, rain gear, sunscreen (non-spray), bug spray.

Do I need my own tackle?

You are more than welcome to fish your own rods but rest easy knowing that all our guides fish with top-of-the-line products and can and will provide all gear needed.
