FAQS

If your dog chews through the ToughChew bed, we will refund your money.

Nylon has proven itself the toughest fabric for dog beds, and stands up to most canines. We layer the nylon we use in our ToughChew covers for extra strength, starting with a base layer made in ripstop, topped with a soft microfiber layer bonded to the nylon so your dog will enjoy cozy comfort. To add still more protection, we use a sturdy 840-denier nylon liner fabric in our ToughChew beds. Durable brass zippers round out the performance features in this extra-sturdy dog bed.

Here are a few strategies to try—but be patient with yourself and your dog as you introduce and practice them.

  1. Give your dog plenty of safe, sanctioned toys to chew. Build an obsession in him for his own things by feeding him via a refillable food toy.
  2. Identify and then eliminate any stressors that set off your dog. This strategy may seem obvious, but it’s the most efficient solution for the dog who chews his bed to relieve anxiety. Figure out the triggers—boisterous children, thunder, and fireworks are common ones. Try moving your dog’s bed out of harm’s way.
  3. Leave on a television or radio when you’re away. Music albums composed and recorded specifically to soothe dogs may also be effective.
  4. Give your dog plenty of daily opportunities for exercise and play. Routinely engaging him with rigorous exercise and games will help him stay calm when he’s inside: A tired dog is a good dog.
  5. Talk to your veterinarian. If your dog suffers from extreme anxiety, he may need behavior therapy. Your vet can help you find a specialist in your area who can help your destructive chewer.

For most adult dogs, chewing is a healthy behavior they reserve for their toys and treats. But destructive chewing can be a sign of stress in your dog—separation anxiety, or something else in his environment may drive him to chew his bed compulsively. Boredom may also be the culprit; a restless or frustrated dog without a positive outlet for pent-up energy may divert it towards his bed.

Tough Dog Beds for Persistent Chewers

The ripstop nylon double-layer construction in our chew-resistant ToughChew®dog beds is specifically engineered to withstand the most persistent chewers, diggers, and all-around bed-shredders. But as rugged as this dog bed is, the material inside its liner is also surprisingly soft, offering a sense of total comfort when your pal tires out and settles down. Our heavy-duty chew-resistant bolster and platform dog beds come with memory foam or an eco-friendly fill so your dog can enjoy superior comfort. And when your four-legged friend tracks in four paws’ worth of mud, never fear: Each of our sturdy dog beds comes with a removable cover you can machine wash at home, so it’ll still look its best even after your dog does his worst. We’re confident any product from this collection will win your pet’s paw print of approval, but if he manages to destroy his ToughChew bed, we’ll gladly refund your money, guaranteed.
