Patagonia Outfitters operates out of the finest lodges and estancias in the San Martin area of northern Patagonia, Argentina. Each unique lodge is located on a private estancia, providing private access to the best stretches of the many different rivers and streams that make this part of Patagonia so great for fly fishing, including the Aluminé, Collón Curá, Chimehuin, Malleo, Limay, and Traful Rivers as well as several other streams and creeks. Each lodge provides a unique experience for guests, and most guests will enjoy several different lodges during their stay. They are all very comfortable with spacious guest rooms and ensuite baths, dining rooms, and social areas. Fine dining is a part of the Patagonia experience, and every lodge features exceptional Argentine cuisine and local wines. We can accommodate groups ranging from single anglers to parties of up to 8, 10, or more, depending on the lodge or combination of lodges. The Patagonia Outfitters team will work with every guest to customize their trip based on preferences for accommodations, dining, and fishing.
Every itinerary with Patagonia Outfitters is fully customizable. Our team has been organizing memorable fishing adventures in Argentina for nearly 40 years and will work with you to build the perfect itinerary. All our trips begin or end with domestic flights from Buenos Aires to either Bariloche or San Martin de los Andes. We will meet you at the airport and take care of you for the duration of your stay with us in northern Patagonia. We can provide all the equipment you may need for the trip, including rods, reels, flies, tackle, waders, and boots. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own gear as well. All the lodges we represent are full service, and include deluxe accommodations, fine dining, delicious Argentine wines, and a full bar. There are lots of fun non-angling adventures available as well, including horseback riding, hiking, sightseeing, shopping, and more.
Patagonia Outfitters' fly-fishing experience is located in the San Martin de los Andes region, which boasts one of the most diverse river systems in all of Patagonia. The area is known for its rich bug life, which makes it an ideal location for dry fly fishing. Some of the finest fishing in all of South America can be found on amazing rivers such as the Aluminé, Collón Curá, Malleo, Limay, and Chimehuin, as well as several other lesser-known—but equally great—watersheds. Anglers have the opportunity to witness classic hatches of mayflies, caddis, and stoneflies, as well as other extraordinary events such as the renowned minnow runs, pancora crabs, and unforgettable willow worms that appear at specific times during the season. With hundreds of miles of productive rivers and private access, guests have the option to float or wade fish in wide-open spaces.
Our packages are all customizable, from two days to two weeks. Rates vary depending on the estancias, lodges, and length of stay. In general, a week-long package of seven nights and six days ranges from $6,300 to $8,050 per person, based on double occupancy. Single supplements available.

What’s the weather like?
Like many mountainous regions with diverse landscapes, the weather in Patagonia can be unpredictable. Most of the time, it is sunny and warm. Still, it’s always possible to encounter a mix of sunshine, wind, rain, and even snow. So, it is best to come prepared for anything. A layered approach to clothing is ideal, to stay warm and cozy if the mornings are cool or a storm moves in, with the ability to peel off layers and keep cool if the midsummer sun is in full glory.
Is TBMC kid friendly?
Due to the close proximity to the river, TBMC is not an ideal place for children under the age of 12.
How do we get there?
Travel to Northern Patagonia is simple. There are many daily international flights into Buenos Aires and daily domestic flights to either Chapelco (San Martin de los Andes) or Bariloche airports. Our team in Buenos Aires can organize domestic transfers, hotels, additional tours and side travel in Buenos Aires, wine tasting in Mendoza, and much more.
