Chetola Resort At Blowing Rock
North Carolina's Chetola Resort is an Orvis-endorsed fly-fishing lodge, and you can expect the same credibility from our guides as well. Chetola's Orvis-endorsed guides will exceed all expectations with our experience, knowledge, and professional guide training. This training, combined with access to 3,000 miles of public waters as well as pristine public waters, places us as one of the top fly-fishing destinations on the East Coast.
Our specialty lies in catch-and-release rainbow, brown, brook, and trophy trout, as well as smallmouth bass and carp. Our professional guides make a point to personalize each trip based on the guest's experience and expectations, the current conditions, and the season, to ensure a great day on the water. Our individually curated approach focuses on both technique and hospitality, allowing our guests to make memories that last a lifetime. Chetola Resort offers the perfect combination of natural resources, hospitality, knowledge, and decades of local experience that allow the best fishing experience in the area. As a full-service resort, we also offer unique adventure packages that are ideal for families, groups, and corporate team-building seminars.
The name Chetola originated from the Cherokee meaning "place of rest" and we invite you to do just that. For some, a place of rest may be found on the shore of a remote riverbank. For others, it is found in our spa's relaxation room. No matter your idea of rest, our mission is to bring you the best experience possible with individual attention to the details that matter most.
Orvis is pleased to offer our travel customers access to two valuable services: Global Rescue travel membership and IMG Signature Travel Insurance℠.

Please bring rain gear, sunscreen, sunglasses, any medications, and wear closed-toe shoes that have good traction, breathe easily and dry quickly after getting wet. Your guide will inform you of any particulars that may be needed pertaining to the season.
Fishing licenses are required and may be purchased the day of your trip. Licenses can be purchased at Village Hardware in Blowing Rock, Walmart in Boone or at ncwildlife.org or at tn.gov/twra.

Yes, don’t let cold air or precipitation deter you! In fact, fishing during late fall, winter and early spring is considered some of the best fishing of the season. With fewer insects alive and active during colder temperatures, the fish are happy to bite at all the flies you throw.
We are proud to be working with organizations such as Healing Waters that encourage those with special needs to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of being outdoors, working with others and experiencing the rejuvenating activity of fly fishing. We do our best to meet guests' requirements based on specific needs or limitations. We are currently working on a new section of water that is being specifically engineered for guests confined to wheelchairs.
