Spanning 18,000 square feet, the lodge offers eight elegantly decorated rooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, ensuring world-class comfort by any standard. All rooms are located within the main building, providing guests with a cozy, stylish, and well-heated environment in the tranquil countryside of Buenos Aires Province.

The lodge’s interior features three spacious living rooms, an ample dining room, a playroom, and a micro-cinema, making it the perfect retreat for relaxation after a day of exceptional duck hunting. Dining is a highlight at Santa Rita, where guests enjoy gourmet meals crafted by a world-class chef. The cuisine showcases a fusion of traditional Argentine flavors and international dishes, paired with an open bar and premium Argentine wines.

Food & Drink:

For a truly authentic experience, the lodge has a charming outdoor “quincho” area, a traditional Argentine barbecue setting where guests can indulge in perfectly grilled “asado” and savor the country’s renowned Malbec wines. Every detail of comfort and quality is meticulously attended to, making Santa Rita a premier destination for those seeking the best of Argentina’s hospitality and wingshooting.

Santa Rita Lodge offers the pinnacle of duck shooting in Argentina, providing what many enthusiasts consider the best and most consistent program in the world. Situated in a region reminiscent of the Great Plains or the Dakotas, the area’s expansive potholes, grain fields, and marshes provide a perfect habitat for a diverse array of wild ducks.

Our land is rich with numerous species, from the majestic rosy-billed pochards gliding through the sky to the yellow-billed pintail—the true star of the show—responding eagerly to calls and diving into decoy spreads. Other highlights include the vibrant red shoveler and the ultra-fast speckled teal darting into the decoys, while whistling ducks add variety to the hunt.

Typical Itinerary:

Santa Rita’s daily program begins with a hearty breakfast, followed by a thrilling morning hunt over decoys. Afterward, guests return to the lodge for a gourmet lunch and a well-earned siesta. The afternoon continues with more superb shooting, ending with a sunset and a meticulously prepared dinner. Game dishes are a specialty here, with duck and perdiz served in sophisticated, delectable ways.

We provide high-quality guns in both 12 and 20 gauges, including semiautomatic and over-and-under options. Our collection features primarily Berettas and Benellis, with some Browning models available. With a focus on aesthetics, we use dry-permanent blinds, custom decoys, and expert duck calls to ensure an unparalleled experience. For added variety, optional perdiz shoots over pointing dogs are available upon request.

Estancia Santa Rita is nestled in the fertile Pampas region of Argentina, on the western side of Buenos Aires Province. This landscape features gentle rolling meadows and some flat terrain, underpinned by the richest soil in the world, which supports intensive agriculture and sustains abundant duck populations. As a renowned pothole country, it serves as a vital breeding ground for diverse duck species, creating an unmatched environment for waterfowl hunting.

The region's lush greenery is a testament to its fertility, nourished by generous rainfall. Unlike river or delta environments that require boats and are subject to tides, our hunting logistics are efficiently managed with high-quality 4x4 pickup trucks. This allows us to construct and maintain permanent blinds and access the prime ponds and potholes easily.

Season

Our hunting season spans late fall and winter, when the cold weather stimulates duck activity, driving them to roost and feed. For over 40 years, we have honed our techniques to encourage ducks to decoy beautifully, locking their wings and diving into the spreads—an exhilarating sight that embodies the thrill of duck shooting at Estancia Santa Rita.
