At the Orvis Virginia Beach Fly School, we’ll help you master the basics or further hone your fly-fishing skills to get to the next level. It is hosted by Fly School USA. We teach the Orvis Progressive Method of Fly-Casting and specialize in working with novice anglers and anglers looking to improve their skills. We’ll help you to learn the latest fly-casting techniques and explore fly-fishing equipment with a focus on both fresh and saltwater fishing. Our school combines classroom knowledge with hands-on instruction to help guide you on your fly-fishing journey.

The Orvis Virginia Beach School is held at the Marriott Delta Hotel. Majority of student will stay on site at the Marriott Delta Hotel Virginia Beach Waterfront. A short drive from Norfolk and all the surrounding tidewater area. This resort is the perfect venue, located at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. Featuring waterfront dining, and great beach access for our casting sessions.

Cost includes classroom instruction, casting sessions, use of Orvis gear (fly rods/reels, leaders, and flies). Lunch is also included.

Yes, if you would like to fish the day after the school, please contact the Orvis Endorsed Fly-Fishing Outfitter Rock On Charter Fishing. Please note guided trips are subject to availability.
We ask that students bring a hat, polarized sunglasses, rain gear, sunscreen, as well as light-weight, breathable tops and bottoms. For colder months you want to dress in layers.
If the reservation is cancelled 60+ days from your school date, Orvis will offer a full refund back the original method of payment, or the reservation can be transferred to another available school. If the reservation is cancelled 30-60 days from the date of the school, the customer will have a choice between a refund of 50% or transferring the reservation to another available school. On cancellations 29 days or less there is no refund and no transfer. There will be no refund extended to students who do not attend their scheduled school and do not notify the school within the timeframes listed in this policy. Any reservation that has been transferred to a different date cannot be later cancelled without 100% payment penalty.
