What should I bring?
We always recommend that you dress in layers appropriate for the season. Cotton, although a comfortable fabric, is not a good choice for outdoor activities, especially in the summer. It can rain anytime of the year, so please remember to bring a waterproof jacket and pants. Hats, sunglasses, and sunblock are also recommended.
The Pheasant Bonanza Uplander School puts students in actual hunting situations where the appropriate gear is essential. Sturdy, comfortable, waterproof boots, briar pants and shirt, along with a field jacket are required.
Students may bring their own shotguns if they wish, but we have plenty of shotguns available for students to use ($30 per day rental fee) Ammunition will be available for purchase in our pro shop.
Are there specific gear recommendations?
Q. What is the largest shot size we can use? A. 7 1/2 shot or smaller for the Ultimate Hunts and Sporting Clays. Six-shot or smaller for Field Hunts. Two-BB shot or smaller for Waterfowl Hunts. Ammunition is available in our ProShop.
Q. Cans we bring our own dogs? A. You are more than welcome to use your own dogs, at your own risk.
Do I need to purchase a license?
Students attending the Uplander School will be provided a hunting license at time of registration.

Rooms measure 400 sq. ft. and have full private baths. Each floor of the lodge has a lounge area, providing hunting groups with privacy. A freestanding fireplace extends through all three floors. We are excited to have a full commercial kitchen, bar, dining room, pool tables, conference rooms, balconies, and outdoor seating.
