Orvis-Endorsed Fly-Fishing Lodge
Enjoy Orvis-endorsed lodging at Primland, a place like no other, on your fly-fishing trip to Virginia. The first thing you feel at Primland is the quiet solitude of being somewhere remote. At some point during the ascent to nearly 3,000 feet above sea level, one feels as if they’ve truly left civilization and entered nature’s domain. The 12,000 acres in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains that comprise Primland were selectively developed with a sensitivity to the landscape and the land’s needs. A place for anglers of all skill levels, Primland offers the experience of fishing on the privately stocked stream, The Big Ivy Creek, or the broad and forgiving section of the river in Kibler Valley. Seasoned anglers will thrill at the catch-and-release opportunities presented by unrivaled access to a six-mile stretch of the Dan River or in the wild tailwaters of the Pinnacles Reservoirs, known as the “Grand Canyon of Virginia.” Wily brown, brook, and rainbow trout await in the rippling waters as the beauty of the rugged, remote environment lures you in. All Primland guides are experienced, knowledgeable anglers for the region. Along with fly-fishing excursions, Primland is a recreational playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy sporting clays, RTV tours, horseback trail rides, hiking, mountaintop golf on The Highland Course, The Spa, stargazing from The Observatory, and more. Varied accommodations include The Lodge, Cottages, Mountain Homes, or Tree Houses. Regional dining is offered in three restaurants on site. Primland is the perfect retreat for friends and family, and is a genuine Southern-hospitality experience.
Orvis is pleased to offer our travel customers access to two valuable services: Global Rescue travel membership and IMG Signature Travel Insurance℠.
