After an exhausting day of awe-inspiring hunting or edge-of-your-seat fishing, you’ll retire to some of the most perfectly-appointed lodging options you’ll find anywhere. In fact, our indoors is almost as rejuvenating as our outdoors. Southwind has four different luxurious lodges available and can have the capacity for up to 35 guests.
Region/Terrain Where You Hunt
SouthWind Plantation is South Georgia hunting at its best. Envision 3,000 picturesque acres of extensively- managed wildlife habitat home to thriving populations of deer, dove, duck, quail and turkey. Our varied and pristine terrain features classic South Georgia rolling wire grass, long-leaf pines, water oak creek bottoms and cultivated farm land. There's simply no better atmosphere to test your skills.
Typical Weather by Season
When cold weather returns to the South, ducks migrate down from their northern grounds. You will relish the chance to get on a fast and furious wood duck hole or go on the big lake hunt for ring necks and canvas backs. The first frost turns the woods to that accustomed golden brown. Cold clear crisp mornings in the field reminds one of the finer things in life. As the sun rises over a cold frost covered morning, you feel a renewed flow of energy as you hone in on that single quail on the rise or as you are watching that trophy buck in all his glory. As spring rolls around, we are graced with the pageantry of turkey season. The woods are awoken each morning by the thunderous gobbles of our boss toms, assembling their harems and getting ready to put on the show of the spring as they strut to display their magnificence.

Southwind offers a variety of activities guests can choose from if they aren’t already spending the day in the piney forest of south Georgia. From fishing for a trophy bass to honing ones shooting skills at the lighted clay range, guests will always have something to do at Southwind. Don’t forget Southwind has a wide variety of hunting.
